Does a Stay-at-Home Mom really stay at home?
My husband and I will celebrate our 19th anniversary this July. We didn't add to our family of 2 until we'd been married almost 9 years and then we doubled the size of our family when I had our twins. They are now almost 10. Our daughter recently turned 7. All three of our kids attend Valley View Elementary. My husband and I are both originally from Illinois, but moved to Indiana shortly after we got married for my husband's first job as a manufacturing engineer. We moved to Menomonee Falls in August of 2007, just in time for the twins to start Kindergarten.
I have a degree in Special Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Since I graduated in 1996, however, I have never worked full-time in teaching. I have worked as an aide b.c. (before children) and I have subbed for Germantown and Menomonee Falls, but mostly I'm a stay-at-home Mom. (See above heading)
For the last two years I have been PTA President at Valley View. I used to just think it was enough to help out in the classroom when I could, but I have really been blessed by the experience of serving as PTA president. It's pushed me out of my comfort zone, which I hope has prepared me to stretch even further to serve on the school board.
I teach music to the children of our junior Sunday School organization and just love music in general.
I can frequently be found working out at the Y, so if you see me there, feel free to stop and chat.
